When a museum has an opportunity to exhibit masterpieces from French artist Henri Matisse that are not easily loaned, it’s important that the valuable works of art are showcased under beautiful lighting.

So when the Museo di Santa Giulia in Brescia, Italy, opened its latest exhibit “MATISSE, The seduction of Michelangelo” it chose to highlight the exhibit with LED lighting from Fabbian Illuminazione.

The exhibit features 180 pieces, including various casts of some of Michelangelo’s most important sculptures. Fabbian installed 100 LED lighting fixtures designed by Arch. Alberto Torsello with two spotlights each throughout the exhibition to provide better light quality. Fabbian’s LED lights feature Cree’s XLamp MCE-E LED, a lighting-class, multi-chip LED that provides high lumen output, color consistency.

Fabbian’s LED spotlights consume only 10 Watts and can replace a 35W-50W dichroic lamp.

Additionally, Fabbian’s LED lights emit virtually no ultraviolet rays, which can help protect the irreplaceable pieces of art. If you want to see Fabbian’s LED lighting for yourself, the Matisse exhibit runs through June 12, 2011.
