Furniture Row in Denver, Colorado is one of the largest family-owned retail furniture operations in the United States. The large store needed a lot of light, so owners replaced 1,000 90 W Halogen lamps with 1,000 Cree LRP-38 lamps. The new LED lights use only 12 Watts, resulting in big energy savings for Furniture Row. The LRP-38 lamps are designed to last 50,000 hours in open-track fixtures or 35,000 in non-IC commercial recessed downlights. So how long did it take to swap out 1,000 Halogen lamps with beautiful LED lights? Furniture Row employee Andy Garcia said it took three hours and 15 minutes. Not bad considering all of the lights are on 14-foot track. And since the LED lights last significantly longer than the energy-guzzling Halogen lamps they're replacing, Furniture Row employees won't have to climb the ladder for years. Watch the video to see the results and hear more about what Andy has to say about the store's new LED lights.
