The Revolutionaries
Like many large corporate offices, Sujana Group Headquarters was facing increasing energy costs and the associated budget impacts.
In an effort to reduce electricity and cut costs, the Sujana Group decided to explore energy-efficient lighting as an alternative. The Sujana Head Office in Hyderabad, India contains a
variety of luminaires, notably a significant number of down lights using CFL lamps.
Lighting auditors initially identified more than 228 lights across the facility to be replaced with energy saving LED Luminaires from Sujana Energy. As they considered possible LED luminaires to replace the existing lights, they developed a set of requirements for any potential solution. They wanted a solution that would meet or exceed the light output and light quality of the existing lights and a solution that could be easily installed without having to make any structural changes to the existing facility. And they wanted to ensure the new luminaries provided significant energy savings when compared to the existing light fixtures.
The company replaced 228 CFL lights with Sujana LED Luminaires featuring Cree LEDs. The new fixtures save up to 60 percent in energy consumption, according to the company. Additionally, the long life of the LED lights eliminates the maintenance cost associated with changing bulbs. And the new LED lights provide improved light quality.
Sujana used a combination of LED troffer lighting, LED downlighting and LED bulbs. In all, the company estimates it will see a savings of more than $90,000 during the life of the fixtures.
